Meet the Artist

Shiloh Mae is a Portland singer-songwriter with a bent toward hope, nothing if not overly sincere.

Listen to the EP

Shiloh first began sharing her songs as a solo artist in 2018. She's a bit of a throwback, Mazzy Star fading into Sheryl Crow, with vocals many have likened to Dolores O'Riordan. She cites influences from 70's folk classics, to 90s soft rock, to the indie pop of today. Her debut EP, All My Metaphors, released on April 22, 2022, is just an introduction to her emotive, image-driven lyricism.

Previously, she wrote and played with her band, Bird and Willow, formed with her brother Jared. Bird and Willow shared many Bay Area stages over the years, both with fellow local artists and some of their favorite touring acts like Sherwood, Fialta, Tyson Motsenbocker, The Collection, and Mike Edel. Shiloh has also performed alongside Zach Winters, Josiah Johnson (former member of The Head and the Heart), and Landon Elliott.

Lately, Shiloh is quietly working to record new music with a variety of producers as she expands and develops her songwriting and sound.

Latest Releases:

Photograph

Shiloh’s latest song, Photograph, describes the challenging task of holding on to memories of a relationship, even in the midst of letting go. Muffled guitar seeps through the first verse like a blurry recollection and eventually build to meet the plaintive cry of acknowledgement: “it isn’t mine to have”. Produced by Carson Poncé in Portland, OR, this song explores the moodier side of Shiloh’s voice and storytelling.

South of Cheyenne

South of Cheyenne, Shiloh’s first release in over 2 years, is an honest window into an average life with the person you love. Follow from the West Coast to the Midwest and back, through thunderstorms and exhaustion, but with a full heart. Acoustic guitar underpins the song like the steady sound of the road, while a soaring string arrangement lifts the eyes as if to watch landscapes pass by. Produced by Tyson Motsenbocker in Encinitas, CA, this song brings the best out of Shiloh’s nostalgic storyteller voice.
